AKYNZEO® (netupitant and palonosetron) Capsules
AKYNZEO capsules are a fixed combination antiemetic indicated for the prevention of acute and delayed nausea and vomiting associated with initial and repeat courses of cancer chemotherapy, including highly emetogenic chemotherapy.
Each AKYNZEO capsule contains 300 mg netupitant and 0.5 mg palonosetron (5-HT3 receptor antagonist). The recommended dosage is one capsule taken 1 hour before the start of each chemotherapy cycle. AKYNZEO capsules should be swallowed whole with liquid.
Netupitant prevents nausea and vomiting by blocking NK1 receptors in the brain and gut. Palonosetron helps prevent nausea/vomiting by blocking 5-HT3 receptors during chemotherapy treatment.
Common side effects may include headache, fatigue, constipation, and abdominal pain. AKYNZEO can interact with certain antiarrhythmic drugs and CYP3A4 inhibitors/inducers.
See complete prescribing information for dosing, administration, contraindications, warnings/precautions, adverse reactions, and other important safety information. Tell your doctor about any medical conditions and medications you take before starting AKYNZEO.
